Brief
history of the Tiger 1
 The Tiger 1 is my favourite tank of all and possibly the most widely known tank in the world. Whenever I am at a show with all the tanks, most people will recognise the Tiger 1. With its impression of pure brute force, it is both ugly but handsome at the same time! The Tiger 1 was used to great effect and built up a fearsome reputation. Indeed, at a distance many Allied tank crews and soldiers confused the similar Panzer 4 with the Tiger 1, such was its reputation. Luckily for the Allies, they made only 1350 or so of them! Who knows what might have happened if there had been more! My own demonstrator number 222, which many of you have seen, is marked up to represent that famous incident involving Tigers at Villers-Bocage on 13 June 1944. 'My' tank was commanded by Michael Wittman one of the most famous of all Tiger commanders. With just one Tiger he almost defeated the British 7th Armoured division single-handedly, destroying 22 Tanks and 23 other vehicles! Not surprisingly the Tiger 1 has secured a place in military history not only as the most feared tank of its time but also as a revolutionary design. Many of its best design features can still be seen in modern tanks. With its many variants the Tiger makes a very interesting model in 1/6th scale and the perfect scene in which to set-up your Dragon tank commanders!

Tiger 1 1/6th
The hull is constructed of high density GRP, the wheels are all duralumium Suspension beams are hardened steel with coil sprung suspension. The Gearbox case is cast aluminium. Gears are of Thermo Treated steel. There are over 70 bearings in each Tank. The performance of these Tanks needs to be seen to be believed being very powerful and robust. Maintenance is minimal. The tracks are a Zinc/Aluminium cast construction, with hard steel pins. Performance is 3 to 5 mph depending on gearing choice, climbing 60-degree slopes with ease, and an 19cm wall. Will ford water up to 35cm, with waterproof electronics. Tiger 1 - Mid and early production versions now available.
